It's About Time A Man Does The Time!

Ok, a new story is flooding the internet about a man who claims to be pregnant. I know what you are thinking and no this isn't something I read on The Enquirer or Star Magazine (no offense).

Thomas Beatie, a transgendered man who lives in Oregon, tells his story in a first-person account published in The Advocate -- a magazine for lesbians, gays, bisexuals and transgendered people. Beatie, who used to be a woman is about five months pregnant with a girl.

In the story, Beatie reveals that he is legally male and married to a woman named Nancy.

"Sterilization is not a requirement for sex reassignment, so I decided to have chest reconstruction and testosterone therapy but kept my reproductive rights," he says in the article.

Beatie said he stopped taking his testosterone injections to get pregnant. He claims to have already gone through an ectopic pregnancy.

Beatie, who got pregnant through home insemination, said it was a "life-threatening event" that resulted in the loss of all the embryos (he had triplets) and his right fallopian tube.

Now, his second time getting pregnant, Beatie says the pregnancy is free of complications.

"How does it feel to be a pregnant man? Incredible," he says in the article.

"Despite the fact that my belly is growing with a new life inside me, I am stable and confident being the man that I am."

The estimated due date is July 3, 2008.

Math Problem: Pretty Woman + Ugly Man = Happy Marriage? What?

So a study came out yesterday from the Journal of Family Psychology that basically suggest that woman should date and marry men uglier than them if they want marital bliss.

See what it's come to. Is that all we have to do?

The study involved 82 newlywed couples and found that the happiest and most content marriages are those where women have married men who are less attractive than themselves. Study leader Professor Jim McNulty said that men who were more attractive than their mates were more likely to be unhappy in dealing with marriage life and tended to offer less emotional and practical support to their wives.

On the other hand, in couples where the wife is the more attractive mate, both partners felt satisfied and content with their marriage.

The study also suggested that in evolutionary terms, women are less choosy about their man’s looks as long as he is able to help them reproduce; and men are programmed to choose a mate who is most likely to pass on their genes.

Is this the key to happiness? I did a small observation of my own among my friends and surprisingly this seems to be true. And by attractive, I'm not only speaking of physical traits. Among my female friends, the overwhelming majority tended to be more outgoing, social butterflies, trendsetters, spontaneous and adventurous. While their spouse may or may not be as physically attractive but were definitely less outgoing and social, basically falls into the background of the relationship.

So my personal opinion is that there may be some truth to this but not (in my perspective) physically attractive but overall more socially attractive woman enjoy a happier marriage with a less socially attractive man.

This study reminds me of the funny scene with Lela Rochon and Wendell Pierce in "Waiting to Exhale." After their love scene, Rochon's character began to contemplate if maybe she could be happier with him if she overlooked his physical attributes and.... made some physical adjustments on her own. LOl. Let's take a moment to reminisce, shall we?

Detroit's Mayor, Kwame Kilpatrick is headed to prison

Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick and an ex-aide have been charged with perjury and obstruction of justice after prosecutors said sexually explicit text messages between the two contradicted their sworn court testimony.

Kilpatrick reportedly sent romantic texts to his chief of staff, contradicting earlier testimony. This wouldn’t have been as bad if he didn’t publicly deny the relationship. See what happens when you lie little boys and girls. Lying carries more weight than what you lied about.

Anyway the close to 14,000 text messages were leaked to the public and proved that there was an undercover romance. This breached caused for an overwhelming urge for his resignation.

The prosecutor has charged Kilpatrick and the “other” woman with multiple counts of perjury, obstruction of justice and misconduct. The two could face up to 15 years in prison. The prosecutor is asking that the two turned themselves in by tomorrow morning.

I guess if he goes to prison a formal resignation won’t be necessary, right?

Let’s have a moment of silence for his wife and 3 kids.

Atleast NY’s new governor cut his haters off at the pass by coming out publicly before the dirt could rise.

Corinne Baily Rae's Husband Found Dead

The husband of singer Corinne Bailey Rae has died of a suspected drugs overdose. Jason Rae, a saxophonist with the Haggis Horns, was found dead at a flat in Leeds.

West Yorkshire police said: “At 3.15pm yesterday [Saturday] the body of a 31-year-old man was found at a flat in the Hyde Park area.

“A 32-year-old man was arrested for supplying controlled substances and has since been released on police bail.”

A post-mortem was inconclusive and police are waiting for the results of toxicology tests.

The Haggis Horns had been due to play a gig at the HiFi Club in Leeds on Sunday night. The club confirmed that the concert had been canceled.

Leeds-born Corinne Bailey Rae, 29, shot to fame in 2006 with the release of her self-titled debut album. The record went to number one in the UK charts and sold over a million copies in the US, as well as producing the hit single ‘Put Your Records On’.

The couple met at Jazz club The Underground in Leeds and married in 2001. “I was Corinne Bailey. I added on Rae, my husband’s name, when I got married,” she said, “there’s no hyphen - stops it being posh!”

She recently said of her marriage: “When I got married, I felt like I was older in my head. “I knew Jason was the right one for a mixture of reasons. I really liked him, and I think that’s a good place to start from. “And I really liked hanging around with him. With Jason it was like I couldn’t see enough of him.”

It's A Girl, Halle Berry Gives Birth to a Baby Girl

The Associated Press is reporting that Halle Berry had a baby girl Sunday, and "is doing great," her publicist Meredith O'Sullivan told People.com, the Web site of People magazine. It is her first child. The father is 32-year-old model Gabriel Aubry. The two met while shooting a Versace ad in Los Angeles two years ago.

Berry told Oprah Winfrey on her show last year that playing a mother in her latest movie, "Things We Lost in the Fire," helped convince her that motherhood was for her. "I think it validated that I was meant to be a mother because every day I dealt with the character as a mother and thinking as a mother," Berry said. "It let me know that I must be a mother."

Berry won the best-actress Oscar for 2001's "Monster's Ball." She also won an Emmy and a Golden Globe for 1999's "Introducing Dorothy Dandridge."

Berry had said she and Aubry don't plan to marry, but feel fully committed to each other. Some gossip tabloids are reporting that Oprah Winfrey has agreed to be her daughter's Godmother.

Will Smith Punked by Dr. Dre

According to a book authored by Brian Williams, a close friend of Dr. Dre, he claims that the Bad Boys II has a song that deliberately takes a hit at Will Smith. Unbeknownst to Will Smith and the movie producers, the song, "Bitch Niggaz," which played in the background of one scene, was a song directed at Smith for urging rappers to tone down their violent lyrics. Now why no one from Smith's camp didn't pick up on that is beyond me. Surely there were some Dre fans in Will's crew.

OK now all together, let's sing Jill Scott's "Hate On Me."

BET's Iron Ring Airs on Tuesday

BET's new sports reality show is set to air on Tuesday, March 18th at 11 PM ET. Celebrities will face off against eachother as team owners in this showcase. Team leaders include Floyd Mayweather, Ludacris, Nelly, T.I., Juelz Santana, Jim Jones and Lil Jon.

BET pairs celebrity team owners, trainers, and fighters to produce these televised match-ups. Headlining the show is boxing champ Floyd Mayweather (with the assistance of hip-hop star Rick Ross) managing the Money Mayweather Boys, along with hip-hop heavyweights Ludacris and Nelly representing Team Luda and Team Nelly (respectively); T.I. with the help of Big Kuntry, Young Dro, DJ Drama and Alpha Omega leading Team Grand Hustle; Juelz Santana and Jim Jones heading Dipset; and Lil Jon with the Head Busters.

The top prize is $100,000 and in order to win, the fighters must combine jiu-jitsu, judo, karate, boxing, kickboxing and wrestling. From competitive team tryouts and grueling practices to the final face-off at the live championship, the show not only exposes the hardcore sport of mixed martial arts, but also uniquely explores the human element by providing insight into the lives of the fighters and coaches.

On a personal note, I'm looking forward to seeing some nicely toned, strong, athletic men built like Adonis. Atleast that is what I'm hoping for because aside from Floyd Mayweather, there isn't a celebrity team leader that I would want to see with their shirt off. LOL

No They Didn't: Another Baby Mama song

DAT BABY DON'T LOOK LIKE ME by Shawty Putt featuring Lil Jon & The BME Click

Okay so I'm driving in Atlanta a few days ago and here Greg Street premiere a new song on V-103. When I heard the song, at first I was shocked. But then I wasn't because what else would come out of Hotlanta. The only two sub-genres that seem to be successful beyond I-285 these days are either stripper/club songs or babymama-drama songs.

So the latest installment in the babymama-drama category, "Dat Baby Don't Look Like Me," is quite entertaining once you get pass being offended. I only heard it once and spent the entire next day surfing the net to try and find it to post. And finally, it has surfaced thanks to Dirtysouth.com. You can judge for yourself.

Funny Videos: Are You Smarter Than A Crackhead?

'N Sync & Backstreet Boys creator gets ready to say "Bye Bye Bye"

E! online is reporting that Lou Pearlman, creator behind the Backstreet Boys and 'N Sync is headed to prison.

Thursday, Pearlman pleaded guilty to swindling mover $300 million from banks and investors. (Ouch)

In order to avoid more serious charges, Pearlman pleaded guilty to two counts of conspiracy and one count of money laundering and making false claims in a bankruptcy filing.

"I'm accepting full responsibility," Pearlman told U.S. District Judge G. Kendall Sharp, who quizzed him about the details of the fraud for almost an hour.

Sentencing is set for May 21, where he could face up to 25 years in prison and a $1 million fine. Prosecutors will seek a shortened prison term depending on how much he cooperates with them, bankruptcy trustees, the FBI, the IRS and state regulatory agencies in tracking down unnamed co-conspirators and help recover the money to repay investors. So basically, he'll get a lighter sentence if he snitches.

Pearlman is accused of bilking nearly $200 million from 1,800 investors by selling worthless stock in bogus companies. He also managed to bilk an additional $140 million in fraudulent bank loans using phony financial statements and tax returns supplied by a nonexistent accounting firm.

The feds were clued into the scheme by several victims, who claimed they gave the persuasive Pearlman money for high-yield savings accounts only to later discover that the he and his various corporate entities pocketed the money.

That sparked a probe by the FBI and IRS, who raided Pearlman's Orlando offices early last year. Pearlman subsequently disappeared during a European tour with his latest teenybop creation, US5, and went on the lam, turning up in Israel, Russia, Panama and Brazil before finally being collared in Bali, and carted back Florida.

Pearlman admitted to Sharp that he lied to investors on numerous occasions, such as when he claimed he had a German investment associate with a $50 million line of bailout capital, or when he alleged his Transcontinental Airlines had 41 planes in its fleet, when in reality there were only two.

Pearlman also copped to using the signature of a late associate, Harry Milner, who died in 2003, to avoid repayments.

When Sharp asked where all the millions went, Pearlman couldn't give a detailed accounting, only saying that the cash bankrolled various investments, along with "aircraft, living expenses, [and] working capital."

Whitney Houston's Holiday Release

According to Clive Davis, Whitney Houston's long overdue album is scheduled to be released later this year."We're on track for a holiday release," he said during Billboard's Music & Money Symposium in New York Thursday.

Davis blames the delay on the creative process, saying he and Houston were unwilling to rush out an album of substandard tracks.

"We're not going to compromise who she is to fit into today's hip-hop radio market. The public wants Whitney material."

Details on the tracks have not yet been revealed, though Black Eyed Peas' Will.i.am, R&B singer Akon and producer and songwriter Sean Garrett have either written or produced tunes for the disc.

Rapper Bone Crusher releases fitness DVD

Rapper and former VH-1 Celebrity Fit Club Contestant Bone Crusher released fitness DVD, “Battle of the Bulge” yesterday. Endorsed by Dr. Ian Smith, the medical and diet expert on VH1's highly rated "Celebrity Fit Club" and State Farm's 50 Million Pound Challenge, was inspired by his own personal growth and experiences with weight-loss. Bone Crusher, who currently holds the records for the “Biggest Individual Weight Loss,” stated, “"I decided to put together a fitness DVD because there aren't really any workout DVDs available to people who are significantly overweight, and those are the people who really need a routine that is effective and realistic. And given the increase in obesity rates in this country, I thought it was important to provide a tool to help others in my position lose weight and increase health and wellness."

Dr. Ian Smith, provides commentary in the Special Features section and endorses the video as the perfect DVD for those in the plus-size market as it takes into account the advantages and challenges of exercising for those who are overweight. Dr. Smith recommends "Battle of the Bulge" as a tool that "will not only help you lose weight, but it will change your life."

CW'S "GIRLFRIENDS" CANCELLED WITHOUT FINAL EPISODE

Reposted from SOHH and YBF

The YBF broke the news yesterday (Feb 11) that Girlfriends has officially been cancelled and the network is not even planning to shoot a finale episode. And now another source involved in the production of Girlfriends tells The YBF that the production team was in the process of bring back Jill Marie Jones (Toni Childs) for this year’s season/series finale. The source says this is critical to inform people of because ”Toni Childs” leaving is the biggest complaint that the cast and crew have encountered about the show and one that they would have answered had they been given the opportunity. Bringing Jill back was something they wanted to do for a long time and there was a story arc in place that was going to include that in the season finale.

Also, Girlfriends was one year away from being the longest running African American sitcom in television history. Longer than Fresh Prince Of Bel Air, Martin, A Different World, The Jeffersons, etc. It is currently tied for longest running African American sitcom of all time with The Cosby Show. And the source says that ninth year was something Mara Brock Akil (the show’s creator and executive producer) really wanted to accomplish and something that the team feels they should have been given an opportunity to do.

The source is so adamant about readers, watchers, and fans demanding that this show get its proper due, they sent over the DIRECT contact info for the offices of head execs in charge. They made clear that the general contacts likely won’t get the message to them. To write or call DIRECTLY to the people who matter in order to express your disappointment and desire to have another season (or at least a proper finale):

He continued to talk over the music until he began to pay homage to his mother. At that point, he asked if they were going to continue to run the music while he talked, and remarkably they stopped the music. In appreciation for their thoughtfulness, an growing applause grew in the Staples Center.
